The “Araw ng Dabaw” is an annual celebration in Davao City as a gratitude for the blessings received by the city. The festival usually begins on the sixteenth of March and lasts a week . On March 16, 1936 filed Davao Assemblyman Romualdo Quimpo a law to declare Davao as a City because of a fear that Davao might be conquered by the Japanese during World War II.
It was then said that the unity of people in Davao City was main reason why the economy of the city became prosperous. And the city was known to be the place in the Philippines having a very rich culture, with many parks to enjoy bundled with a variety of delicious food.
